Beach bums

During the Easter week, as Klaus and I work from home, we've let open the gate towards the beach. The sheep can then go for seaside strolls and nibble salty seagrass and other yummie stuff that has drifted ashore (including a large tree trunk). The strolls are healthy too, as the sheep's hooves are trimmed towards the pebbles, and because what they eat at the beach contains salt and other minerals. They seem to enjoy their extra freedom, and then, after a little while, they're back up in front of the house, happily rechewing and taking small naps.
This week really lives up to its name, 'the silent week'. It's quiet everywhere and the few cars that pass by Tønsåsen are loaded with skis and kids (probably not very quiet but a sign that people are not at work). This afternoon we'll get out the skis too. With a 15cm carpet of fresh snow waiting for us up the hill, we'll leave beach life to the sheep for now.
