Waking up to a heavy blizzard this morning, we can't believe how lucky we were with this year's Easter weather. On Saturday we travelled to Lyngen, the fjord-alpine region further inland, to spend the Easter weekend with Reidar and Søssa. And we were accompanied by amazing sunshine throughout our stay. The skiing conditions were perfect and so on Sunday we ventured up Giilavarre, the favourite mountain among local off-pisters (and, rumour has it, the crown prince). The reasons were soon obvious, and so it was extremely frustrating to get stuck at 700 metres with the best panoramas still further up the mountain side. My hope is that we can go back in the summer and reach the peak. Meanwhile I will do something about that vertigo...
