On Tuesday evening, our cat Mikki was hit by a car and died. We had been worried for a while that this might happen, as she had recently expanded her territory and started to cross the road more often. This wasn't Mikki's first car accident. She was hit and broke her thigh bone soon after coming to Tønsåsen as a young cat in the spring of 2005. Back then, she underwent surgery and got back on all four feet just in time to give birth to Sofus and Lisa. Mikki trained her two kittens not to cross the road, but over the years the fear of cars seems to have faded. Here's a picture of Mikki taken in March 2005, just a few days after she climbed into Klaus' car at Alfheim, clearly looking for some food and a new home.

We will miss you, Mikki!
