The sun returned to our latitude on January 21st, and after heavy snowfalls the days are now bright blue. Yesterday and today we've had storms-cum-blizzards, though. While we humans enjoy the sound of sleet hitting the windows, the sheep will move up the hill to a comfortable distance from the angry waves (they're terrible swimmers) and the geese must be kept indoors, to avoid accidental take-offs. Since her first egg at New Year, Gerd-the-goose has been unstoppable, which means we've been completely egg self-sufficient so far in 2008! The eggs taste almost exactly like chicken eggs and with bright yellow yolks they are wonderful for omelettes and supersize 'speilegg'.

More light, more snow, more eggs
