Last night it was obvious that Elke wanted nothing to do with her smallest lamb, whom we've called Arnt. He had become weak and dehydrated from not getting enough milk through his first day. Anne Tove came over on her bike and we quickly decided to take him across to their farm for more intensive care. By the time we started the bottle feeding, Arnt was no longer able to suckle, but Anne Tove refused to give up and

managed to feed him 2-3 centilitres. It helped! After a little while he stood up, peed and walked over to a group of heavily pregnant sheep. For the night, Arnt was put in a box filled with hay and towels to make sure he would keep warm. This morning, he seems to have picked up even more strength, after small but regular portions of milk through the night. So things are looking good! By the time Klaus comes back from his trip to Germany, Arnt will hopefully be back in Tønsåsen again, jumping around like small lambs do.
