The weather is all over the place now, and so we've desperately tried to cut and dry the grass according to whenever a sunny spell has been forecasted. At this point, we've put up five hesjer - traditional fences onto which grass is mounted in order to dry - which are now soaking wet from several days of rain. Here's a picture from a week back, when the sun was shining and we thought the hesjing would go smoothly. Hillary, Susanne and Hillary's mother visiting from Canada (not in the picture) were helping out. Our fingers are now tightly crossed the low pressures soon go somewhere else. Worst-case scenario is that the grass just rots on the hesjer. Whichever turnout, though, we did get good exercise!

Hesjing
