Last weekend we went to Lødingen in Lofoten, to visit my father's cousin Berit and pick up three goslings from Åge-the-farmer. We thought the goslings would be... well... small-ish, or at least small enough to fit into one cardboard box like last year. But no. These ones, a Norwegian White (with Italian father), a Småläns and an American Yellow had been born early in the spring and by now they were almost fully grown, with feathers and all. They needed one big box each! Luckily, with a few adjustments including which route back, all went well and the, eh... teenager geese are now settling into their new home by the Tønsåsen goosepond. Here's a picture of our three Lødingen lovelies (we hope they're all female but there is no way of telling yet). From left: Liv, Lenz and Lodve.

Larger from Lødingen
