Klaus' philosophy when it comes to cars is simple: "Thou shall not love thy car". In practice, this means he doesn't wash his car. So over time, the bright orange varnish of the Westfalia has gone a bit... well, bleak. Last Sunday, however, I decided to apply my own philosophy: "If thou think a car looks bleak, polish it!" And so I did. The only thing was: This turned out NOT to be a small and easy job! Getting rid of the matt white layer took the entire day, half a bag of polishing yarn and one bottle of Turtle Wax magic cream (or something to that effect). But the cream (and innumerable wax-on-wax-offs) did in fact do wonders. The Westfalia now looks completely different! It looks... orange! And while my arms are still moving in circular Karate Kid manner, Klaus has... grown fonder of his car!
