In the mornings, as the geese are let out from their shed (fox protection measure), they jump straight into the pond for a little swim and a wash. Only after that will they have their bread, water and sand for breakfast (the latter to keep tummies in order). Martin, Gert and Helge are nearly fully grown now, and with peach-beige coloured feathers they look distinctly different from charcoal Gustav (left in the picture). The mystery was solved a few days ago when Klaus spoke to Gustav's former owner and discovered he is not at all an American Yellow, like the other three, but a Toulouse!
