At some point, snow clearing goes from fresh, healthy, muscle-enhancing exercise to back-crunching hassle. That is when the urge to get hold of a 'snøfreser' (Norwegian for, er... snow-mower?) will kick in, and that is when it's important to not lose sight of the afore-mentioned BENEFITS of manual snow clearing. If you do, you're very quickly at least 10.000 kroner less affluent, with a huge, strange-looking device sitting in your driveway. Luckily for us, Knut's old snøfreser lately found its way to the Tønsåsen barn, from where Klaus can borrow it from time to time. This week, as the sheep had difficulties maneuvering in the compact and icy snow we've got here now, Klaus had his first go at clearing snow the 'easy' way. He later described it as "great fun," which may explain why our entrance is now impeccably cleared and the sheep can go virtually anywhere they like.
