While Klaus and I have been in France and Switzerland, the Hop family has taken care of the farm. Suzanne has fed Tassen his milk and Haakon and Hillary have looked after the other animals and collected our weekly batch of discarded fruit and vegetables (Coop surprised them with a record 32 crates!). It was wonderful to come back to Tønsåsen last Sunday and see twelve sheep roaming the fields, two geese shouting as always, three happy cats and the snow finally gone. Yesterday, with sunshine and 20 degrees, we could 
almost sit and watch the grass grow. The sheep are very content now that they're no longer solely dependent on dry hay, bread, vegetables and fruit (fresh grass beats all that!). Gerd's egg project, on the other hand, has not gone that well. Her two last eggs came to nothing and she has now abandoned her nest and joined Gustav on the pond again. Our hope is that she will lay another batch of eggs in a little while. With decent temperatures, they would stand a much better chance. Yesterday, we treated our neighbours to dinner airborne from Geneva: Cheese fondue with chocolate fondue for dessert!
