While I was away, Klaus managed to get hold of four geese. One adult that looks like a Greylag (grågås)

and three chicks apparently called American Yellow, although I cannot find anything on this species on the internet (they are quite yellow, though). At the moment, the new Tønsåsen residents spend their days in a fenced-in area by the goosepond(!) until they get settled and the chicks grow a bit bigger (that said, they are already the size of hens). While the adult goose has been named Gustav, the chicks have been given preliminary names that can easily be adjusted once their gender is established: Helge, Martin and Gert.

So far, all three are very shy and not quite ready for a photoshoot, as is quite obvious from the picture above. Gustav, on the other hand, tries to scare the photographer away by wheezing and waiving his wings, and when that doesn't work he goes for a quick bath instead.
