Wetsuit not provided

Two peadiatricians from München have come to visit us in Tønsåsen, and they were of course immediately provided with gloves and rakes. Today the grass needed to be turned so that it can dry in the sun – still shining from a clear blue sky. However, because of the heat, the insect population has suddenly exploded around here. Which means farm work involes not only waiving the rake but also regularly waiving your arms to avoid too many attacks from persistent troops of flies and mosquitos. Around lunchtime, when the grass was turned and insect bites counted, nothing seemed more tempting than a soak in the fjord. ”Let’s go for a swim,” Klaus suggested. What he didn’t mention to our guests was the actual temperature of the water and the fact that no wetsuits would be provided. In the picture Klaus is back ashore after a bit of snorkling (no, that’s not normal, even by local standards), while Mortiz has just realised the correlation between the snowy mountains and the pain in his toes.
